Vanessa Désiré

kompa, rnb, rap-kreyol

Vanessa Désiré is a singer-songwriter from Petit-Goâve, Haiti, who first reached national attention at age 16 when she placed second in the third edition of Digicel Stars. Her first single and video, 'Mwen Pa Antò', appeared in 2012, and her early career developed between R&B, konpa, rap kreyòl, and Afro-Caribbean sounds.

She brings a young female voice that is not limited to hooks or guest appearances. Vanessa can make love songs feel soft, but she can also hold a more direct position on disappointment, pride, identity, and personal choice. Collaborations with Baky, Wendyyy, Klib, Rutshelle Guillaume, Antonny Drew, Joverlein Moïse, and other HMI names place her at the intersection of rap kreyòl, kompa-pop, R&B, and modern ballad writing.

Her catalog shows an artist building in stages. 'Migrasyon' (2018) places her in a space where Haitian music moves between home and the diaspora. 'Fòs' (2022) strengthens her image as a singer who can turn personal hurt into direct language. 'Full Package' (2025) expands the file with more pop confidence. In the same line, 'Lanmou Se Nou' with Joverlein Moïse in 2026 shows Vanessa still present in the newer music cycle.

'Crush La', 'M Pap Tounen', 'Yon Lòt', 'Blese', 'Haitian Queen', 'Sans Inik', 'Pap Ka Separe', and 'Sé Ou Li Yé' show an artist growing inside a movement where video, live performance, playlists, Instagram, and diaspora stages all shape the career. Vanessa Désiré helps show how a new generation of HMI women is writing its own language into modern Haitian music.
