Merci
by Klass · 2020 · kompa · 1:35 · Haitian Creole, French
“Merci” arrives as a one-minute and thirty-five-second Klass video released in April 2020 with a praying-hands emoji in its title. It is shorter than nearly every kompa track by the band, making the page a concentrated message of gratitude rather than a full dance arrangement. The French word does not say who receives the thanks, but its simplicity lets a wide audience accept it. Klass often works through large-band discipline; here, economy is the strength. A small thank-you needs no long solo to carry weight.
