All I Ever Wanted
by Michaël Brun · 2016 · pop · 4:14 · Haitian Creole, French, English
Michaël Brun made “All I Ever Wanted” for the soundtrack of Netflix’s “XOXO,” placing his production inside international electronic festival culture. Big Beat Records released the video in 2016, and the track takes a little over four minutes to build a broad, emotional pop space. It does not foreground rara or kompa as later “Bayo” and “LOKAL” work would, but it shows another side of Brun’s precision: the ability to make a melody serve a film for listeners who may not yet know the producer’s Haitian roots.
