Symphony du Ghetto
by RAM · 2015 · rasin · 4:05 · Haitian Creole, French
RAM calls this 2015 track “Symphony du Ghetto,” placing the prestigious symphony form beside life in a neighborhood often neglected. The contrast makes a statement: the street has its own orchestration, memory, noise, and beauty. Across just over four minutes, RAM’s roots sound brings drums, guitar, bass, voice, and rock energy into an arrangement refusing to treat the ghetto as silence. The Oloffson band regularly brings ceremony, politics, and city into the same music. Here, the title asks listeners to hear a community as a complete composition.
