Twòp Tan
by Vanessa Désiré · 2022 · kompa, rnb, rap-kreyol · 4:10 · Haitian Creole, French
Vanessa Désiré calls this 2022 track “Twòp Tan” and takes four minutes and ten seconds to develop the idea. Kompa, R&B, and Kreyòl rap share its record, three lines suited to her movement between melodic singing and more direct speech. No guest appears in the title; Vanessa's voice carries the center alone. The song appeared in the same year as Fòs, during a chapter placing hurt, pride, and personal choice in front. Its two-word phrase gives time itself a role in the relationship tension.
