"Ala de ka" Reginald Cange & Dener Ceide new music

“Ala De Ka” appeared in 2020 while Zafèm was still introducing listeners to the shared language of Réginald Cangé and Dener Céide. Its title sounds like a reaction to a two-sided predicament, and the nearly six-minute recording does not hurry to resolve that tension. Cangé’s voice carries narrative weight while Céide’s guitar and arrangements leave air between phrases. The kompa remains danceable, but precision and space matter as much as cadence. It is an early step toward the mature, elaborate sound that would take full shape on Lalin Ak Solèy.
